I graduated from Naropa University with my Masters in Counseling Psychology. As a Child Therapist and Adolescent Therapist, I maintain a clinical focus on children, teens and family systems.  I have facilitated psychotherapy groups for 'at risk' teens at a private school in Boulder as well as worked for a public middle school one year as a volunteer therapist, to give back in our community. I have also facilitated groups of women struggling with addiction and motherhood. I graduated from University of Massachusetts / Amherst, with my BA.

During my internship in graduate school, I worked at Access Counseling, where the majority of my clients were children, adolescents and their families.  Many of the children I have worked with, and currently work with, have regulatory dysfunction and/or learning disabilities, are living with divorce, or are adopted , displaying 'oppositional' behavior', .attachment issues and attention differences. Many are affected by autism spectrum disorders.  

Additional psychology training I have received during my career includes experiential/ child-led play therapy, Theraplay model of play therapy, Mindfulness practice, Addictions training, CBT, Family Systems, Pre-perinatal education, attachment training using a brain-based model of trauma and child development, equine-assisted psychotherapy, Sensorimotor models of treatment, Filial play therapy  for attachment work within the family system and/or parent-child, and Sandplay therapy.  I am in the process of receiving additional training and course work at UMASS in becoming a certified Autism Specialist.

Should the need arise, I am available to attend IEP meetings at schools, consult with other professionals in the field on the behalf of your child, as well as assist and coach parents on parenting technique, conduct filial play therapy sessions (caregiver/child bond), parent individual therapy, sibling sessions. My usual fees apply I also offer resources on child development and family system dynamics.    I also see parents as couples or individually, for parent processing and coaching. Late morning or early afternoon session times available weekly or bi-weekly.

On a personal note.... I have two sons, ages 12 and 8.  We are connected with the greater Waldorf community and the greater ASD community. We have two dogs and the element of 'animal therapy' is a personal interest of mine, as is nature. I love to sing, and will often use music therapy technique when I work with child musicians, or those for whom voice and singing is healing and furthers self/vocal expression and healthy individuation. Art Therapy technique is also used at times, with similar goals.

My older son was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at age 7.  As a parent of two children with attention differences and sensory challenges as well as unique elements of genius and creativity, I use this added perspective to enhance the work I do with child clients and the families I work with. Additionally, I am able to resource and direct families in the areas of further evaluation in regards to psychiatry, homeopathy, medication reviews,  psychological/intelligence/behavioral testing and parenting coaching.
