Supporting Unique Brilliance
The psychotherapy private practice of Lisa Tretout, M.A.

Is your child Gifted, spirited, emotionally or socially challenged?
Perhaps he is on the AUTISM Spectrum or has attention differences. Dyslexia, learning differences or AD/HD?
or is she a child of divorce or adopted?

Welcome. I hope that you will spend some time here on my site, as you may find many common threads among the types of children I see in my practice. Some of these commonalities might include giftedness, affect dysregulation, Reactive Attachment, anxiety or sad mood, oppositional behavior, social challenges and difficulty initiating and/or maintaining friendships.

What an honor to join Temple Grandin for dinner at the
Duschambe Tea House this past Spring, as a guest of Boulder Valley Gifted & Talented and ASBC, two wonderful organizations supporting children who have ASD, are gifted and/or twice-exceptional.

Ms. Grandin is second from right in photo. I am on left.

Individual Developmental Play Therapy and Social Skills Play Therapy Groups make up the bulk of my private practice, ages 4 and older. Parent, family and sibling filial play therapy is also a dynamic and useful component of family systems therapy when needed.
SUPPORTING UNIQUE BRILLIANCE

Social Skills Play Therapy Groups for children who are 'twice-exceptional' (gifted w/disability) are ongoing throughout the school year. Find my practice listed in the Boulder Weekly Summer Guide section, Boulder Psychotherapy Institute (BPI), IMAGINE!, Autism Society of Colorado, Boulder Chapter (ASBC) and the Boulder Valley Gifted & Talented websites, generally under Family Resources. Also partnering with Medicine Horse Program and Mapleton Center for Pediatrics.

Friends Group
Please check back again in August, to see my schedule for social skills play therapy groups starting in late-August. As of now, I have two Social Skills Play Therapy Groups (Friends Group) starting at the end of August: one for ages 7-9 and another for ages 9-11. Another pre-K/pre-1st grade group to begin after Labor Day. Check back for more details in August.

Feel free to contact me to arrange a parent intake session, if you are interested in your child participating in one of my groups.  303.444.9191

Individual Play Therapy is offered, and often benefits children preparing to join social skills Friends Groups.

Parent Testimonial... "Lisa has worked with my child on several occasions. She is unflappable and easily handles whatever mood he is in. Working with children on the autism spectrum keeps you on your toes, and Lisa is creative and flexible with a very fluid style. More than anything, she genuinely enjoys the children she works with and they know they are safe with her, physically and emotionally."    Mother of 11 year old twice-exceptional son, (written 12/09)
